Such short, distinctive and engaging names are a rare breed
You don't need to know about its etymology to find the name warm, likeable and quirky. As it happens, it's a re-spelling of an old yiddish word - zelig - meaning happy, which was adopted by Woody Allen for the chameleonic character of his eponymous film. Its unconventional leading X doesn't detract from a clearly spelled and pronounced name that looks as good as it sounds.
