Once you buy a name on Novanym, moving it into your own account is a short, guided process, and we are right here with you the whole way.

The moment your purchase goes through, the domain is yours. Novanym is part of BrandBucket, and our parent company handles the behind-the-scenes work for you. BrandBucket holds your payment in secure escrow and prepares the domain for transfer, so the name is protected until it is safely in your hands.
You get an email receipt right away. If you do not see it, check your spam or junk folder. Within a business day, you also receive your authorization code (sometimes called an EPP code) along with simple, step-by-step instructions.
What do I need to do?
You move the domain into an account with a domain registrar of your choice. A registrar is an authorized company that manages domain registrations, and you need an account with one to hold a domain. If you do not have an account yet, you can set one up before or right after you buy. Popular options include GoDaddy, Namecheap, Name.com, and Dynadot.
Start the transfer
Sign in to your registrar and start a transfer-in for your new domain.
Enter your code
When prompted, enter the authorization code we send you.
Confirm and go
Confirm the request, and the domain begins moving to your account.
That is really all there is to it. We provide the code and the instructions, and your registrar walks you through the rest on their side.
How long does it take?
In most cases the domain lands in your account within a few days. The exact timing depends on your registrar, and the rules that govern domain transfers (set by ICANN, the body that oversees the domain system) allow up to about five to seven days for the process to finish. It often moves faster than that. The timing is largely in your registrar's hands, but we do everything we can on our end to keep things smooth, and we are here to help at every step.
How much does it cost?
There are no extra charges from Novanym after your purchase. Your registrar may apply a small fee to bring the domain in, and every registrar charges a yearly renewal fee to keep the name registered to you. That renewal is usually around $15 a year. As long as you pay it, the domain stays yours.
What if the domain cannot be transferred?
This is rare, but if a domain ever cannot be transferred to you for any reason, you are refunded in full. No fees, no hassle. Aside from that guarantee, all sales are final. We think that is a fair deal: you either get the name you bought, or you get your money back.
What about my website and email?
A domain name is simply your address on the internet. It points visitors to your website, and it lets you create email addresses at your own name (you@yourdomain.com). Your domain, your web hosting, and your email can all be managed by different providers, and that is completely normal.
Once the transfer is complete, you have full access to the domain settings inside your registrar account. From there you can connect the domain to your website and set up email addresses whenever you are ready. Your registrar's help pages cover the specifics for their control panel.
